Brenda Gittens, is one who ministers songs of life, love, joy, peace, healing, restoration, reconciliation, encouragement, salvation, faith, praise, worship, and the prophetic word of God to people of all backgrounds and walks of life.  Her ministry crosses cultural and denominational lines.  She is a Worship Leader, Psalmist, and Writer.  It began for her as a background singer on the Praise & Worship Team in 1994 at an Assemblies of God Church and she became a Worship Leader in 1995.  In 2000, she accepted a call on her life directly from the Lord to be a "Worship Evangelist", one who will go and lead His people into powerful praise and unlimited worship.  In 2005, she began writing devotionals and now she is a Devotional Author and Columnist for Streaming Faith.  She knows this.  "To be promoted by the Lord, you have to go through the tests, trials, and tribulations that He has for you, and endure them.  Being humbled.  After the promotion, you have to stay humble."    One pastor describes her ministry as this.  "Brenda is one who not only sings and performs a song, but she leads us into the presence of the Lord and builds and lifts up the body of Christ.  Brenda is a member of the Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Fairfield, California where her pastor is Dr. Claybon Lea, Jr.  

Born in San Francisco and the youngest of five, song and drama was part of her upbringing.  For thirty years her Mother wrote and directed various plays including, "The Singing Cross" and "Church On Trial", at San Francisco Christian Center, the church where Brenda was born and raised by her Mother.  Her Father became a born-again Christian after 33 years of her Mother praying and believing God in faith for his salvation.  Bishop Donald E. Green who was the Pastor for 44 years, is her Spiritual Dad in the ministry today.  As a child her gift, talent, and love for singing became evident.  Brenda knows first hand that just because you grow up in the church, does not mean that you already have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.  “I thought I could continue to live the way I wanted to.  I thought I could do what I wanted to do."  As a young adult, she totally made the decision to surrender her life to Jesus Christ.  Today as a Worship Leader, a Psalmist, and a writer of devotionals and songs, she knows this is exactly what God has called her to do.  “My heart and life is dedicated totally to the Lord.  I can truly say I know Him through relationship, not just about Him.  He mended my life and restored many things back to me.  Through the Lord and with His anointing, the singing and writing comes from my heart with joy!  It's real.  He can make what's impossible possible, he can bring hope to any hopeless situation.  He can take a mess and clean it up.  What he's done for me, he can do for you."

There are many doors that God has opened for her.  She has sung with many in the music ministry and industry and has sung lead and background vocals on studio and live recordings.  Her latest CD project is entitled, "Real Praise/True Worship".
 
Brenda resides in Northern California with her husband and son, who both support her faithfully in ministry.
