Kay's Page

This page is dedicated to my only sister Linda Kay, who was taken home to be with the Lord on April 17, 2006.  Kay was all that!  She was awesome, beautiful, unique, gifted, talented, anointed, special, and there was no one else like her.  No one could do it like my sister Kay could.  She had a ministry that the Lord gave her called “Ministry In Motion”  that touched and changed lives wherever she would go.  She always encouraged me to do my best in whatever I set out to do.  “Ooh Bren, you need to put this stuff into a book or something!”  is what my big sister told me when I began to write the devotions.  Whenever I'm ministering, I know she’s up there with the Father looking down.  Her spirit will always be with me, and some of her even coming out of me (smile)!  As you read a little about her, I guarantee your life will be touched.

Linda Kay was the second of five children.  She was born in Texas and raised in San Francisco, CA.  She grew up in the church and accepted Christ as her personal savior at an early age.  During her teenage years, she was always involved with the youth at San Francisco Revival Center, now San Francisco Christian Center, which has been her family’s church home since 1957.  She directed the youth choir, planned “Formals” for the young people, sang many songs and acted in the plays of the church.  In the 60’s she started a female singing group with some of her friends called, “The Revivalettes.”  She was a very creative person.  As a young woman, she attended Bible College and did mission work in Haiti.

In the early 80’s, the Lord gave her a vision and a dream.  It was one of uniqueness and originality.  She was one who sang from her childhood days and always had a heart for drama, but the dream and vision was to put the two, singing and drama together as one, like it was never done before.  She would take the song and actually become that song!  This had a major and lasting effect on people wherever she would go to share the ministry.  It changed lives.  “Ministry In Motion” was known by many.  It was something that one would never and could never forget.  She would come down the aisle as a woman clothed in sackcloth, whose wrists were bound in chains, singing “He Touched Me.”  She was the beautiful bride in white singing “We Shall Behold Him.”  She was the woman who worshiped with the oil and the box singing, “Alabaster Box” that would bring many to tears.  She was the lady dressed in her apron with the words in bold painted across it saying, “The Potter’s House” with her table of vases and bowls.  Some of the others that she loved to minister were “Ordinary People”, “Designer’s Original”, “Stop By The Church” and many, many more.  “Ministry In Motion” was so awesome and touched so many lives, and Kay always gave God all of the glory.  Those of you who knew her, let her memory and ministry always be with you.   Those left to cherish her memory include, her husband, her son and grandsons, her parents, three brothers, one sister, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws.  Kay also had a whole lot of friends, who loved her dearly.

This is from some of her family . . .

"During her childhood, she never gave us any problems and grew up to be a very dependable and responsible young lady who accepted Jesus as her Savior at an early age.  She was an example and leader to many others.  This was true throughout her life.  She was gifted, creative, and inspirational with amazing ministry that was a blessing to many.  We thank the Lord for letting us keep her almost 58 years.  In our infinite minds, we can't understand the purpose and wisdom of God.  Why would he call her home when her ministry gifts were blooming so beautifully?  We don't have the answer, but can be rest assured according to his word that 'God knows best' and that we wiill all continue to sing her favorite song, 'We shall behold him face to face' and one day we will all join together to give him everlasting praise . . . To God Be The Glory."  -  Mom

"I thought about this a lot.  Being a big brother, sometimes you think your younger sister will still be around after you're gone.  I miss how she would always do things decently, and in order.  Kay exibited with humility the gifts and talents God had given her without hesitation.  I never will forget how my sister was always willing to sing a song.  At the wedding of one of my daughters, she continued to finish all her song selections that day.  I was surprised to find out how much of a wonderful ministry the Lord had given her.  Not a week goes by that I don't think about Kay.  A big void has been left in my life and I miss her dearly."  -  Jr.

"Kay, you are greatly missed and deeply loved.  I miss you sis and every time, I'll say it again, every time I'm ministering for the Lord, I know you're looking down from heaven.  One thing you taught me sis was representation and presentation, how to present yourself, humble and with a grateful heart.  I'm representing Jesus my Lord, and I'm representing you too, while I'm presenting the gospel of Jesus Christ unashamed!  Love you and miss you Kay!"  -  Your little sis Bren
